Vocabulary

There once was a boy named Arthur. Arthur came from a small town in England. Arthur came up in a wealthy family. Arthur was lucky enough to go to Oxford. His father was a duke and served in the military. Arthur loved his parents dearly. He wanted to see them as much as possible. He often sent letters asking for provisions. Life at the university was tough. The provisions would make life that much easier. In these provisions were some bread, books, cookies, and extra robes.
Arthur went to Oxford with lofty ambitions for life. He wanted to become a great general. He wanted to lead the British troops against the French emperor Napoleon. Arthur worked hard and eventually got his command. He was going to fight the French. He was going to put down the French emperor. He was going to do it with his Prussian allies. Napoleon would eventually split the Prussian and British armies apart. Arthur was going to make his stand at Waterloo. Arthur will improvise and only delay the French, not beat them. Arthur will successfully delay the French to where the Prussians and British would together defeat Napoleon.

  1. I like how at the beginning it appears to be a fictional story. Then you tied it into a real story about a person.
